Julian Haart

  1. Mosel Riesling I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

The 2016er Mosel Riesling is made from young vines from Schubertslay, Ohligsberg and Goldtröpfchen, and stopped its fermentation at 15 g/l of residual sugar. The wine develops a superb nose of grapefruit, lemon sorbet, cassis, smoky slate and herbs. It proves gorgeously playful and mouth-wateringly zesty on the palate and leaves a great fresh set of herbs and minerals in the fruity finish. This is utterly delicious in a direct yet stunningly elegant style, certainly for a simple Estate wine. Now-2021 Stuart Pigott: 92 Punkte! „Breathtaking herbal freshness at the finish. If you love Chablis but want a wine with fruit, here it is. Wake up now, because this will sell out fast!“ „TOP-Value! Unübertrefflich. Großartig! 93 Punkte!” FALSTAFF Lees verder

  2. Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

Harvested at 82° Oechsle, the wine exhibits a great nose of cassis, grapefruit and passion fruit, all wrapped into some residual scents from the ambient yeast fermentation. The wine proves beautiful enticing on the palate, with good zest and aromatic focus, and leaves a mineral and grapefruit infused feel in the crisp mouth-watering finish. This is far from being ready and could eventually exceed our high expectations as it develops inner complexity. 2026-2036 Lees verder

  4. Piesporter Schubertslay Riesling Kabinett I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

Harvested at 84° Oechsle, this offers a slightly ample nose of pear, grapefruit, herbs and spices. The wine is deliciously juicy and offers comparatively good presence (by Kabinett standards) on the palate. But the zesty finish remains ethereally light, delicately smooth and very elegant. This is a great wine with racy juiciness and great aromatic depth. 2023-2036 Lees verder

The wine offers a gorgeous nose of grapefruit, cassis, pear, cinnamon and smoke. The wine is medium-bodied on the palate but builds towards the smooth and quite herbal and spicy finish. 8. Ohligsberg Riesling Spätlese I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

John Gilman: “The 2015 Ohligsberg Spätlese was another of the wines in the cellar that was showing a bit grumpy after its very recent filtering. The nose, with some urging, shows notes of white peach, white cherry, slate, gentle notes of petrol, iris blossoms and an esthery topnote of bee pollen. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-full and racy, with a lovely core and a very long finish that shows off fine cut and grip. The detail and focus here is not available for dissection, due to its recent filtration, but I am sure that this will come back very well with a bit of recovery time. 2020-2050. 93-94+?” Lees verder

  9. Winrichter Riesling I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

John Gilman: “The 2015 Wintricher Trocken is also outstanding, offering up a pure and youthfully complex nose of grapefruit, wild yeasts, citrus peel, plenty of smokiness, a touch of lemongrass and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and really suave on the attack, with a lovely core, fine focus and balance, vibrant, seamless acids and excellent length and grip on the bouncy and classy finish. 2016-2035+. 91+.“ Lees verder

  11. Schubertslay Riesling Auslese I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

John Gilman: "The 2015 Auslese from the Schubertslay included twenty-five percent botrytized berries, but as Julian noted, this was really very, very clean botrytis. The wine carries twelve grams per liter of acidity and one hundred grams per liter of residual sugar to balance it out. The lovely nose wafts from the glass in a pure and elegant blend of white cherries, bee pollen, lovely minerality, lime blossoms and a gentle topnote of wild yeasts. On the palate the wine is pure, fullish and very filigreed, with a fine core, great intensity of flavor, lovely focus and balance and a long, vibrant and youthfully complex finish. A classic, lifted and electric 2015 Auslese. 2023- 2070. 94+." Lees verder

  12. Ohligsberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

The 2016er Wintricher Ohligsberg was made from almost 100 year-old un-grafted vines and fermented down to 3 g/l of residual sugar, i.e. within legally dry levels. This develops a reduced nose of quince, cinnamon, herbs and spices, with some fresher elements of cassis in the background. The wine is quite spicy and powerful on the palate and leaves an intense feel of spices in the still slightly tart finish (the wine saw some prefermentation cold soak). This needs quite some years to settle down and integrate, but should then prove a great expression of dry Riesling. 2026-2036 Lees verder

  13. Riesling Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Trocken I Adam & Haart | Julian Haart

The Wine Advocate (over de 2014): 'From one of the rare ungrafted plots in the grand cru (which was reconstructed in the late 1980s and 1990s) the 2014 Goldtröpfchen Riesling trocken displays a super fine and highly complex bouquet with flinty and herbal aromas intermixed with ripe, elegant Riesling and red cassis flavors; there are also notes of coffee beans, nuts and fruit pips. Full-bodied, highly complex and elegant, this is great and straight terroir Riesling from the Mosel. It is really dry and mineral, nicely piquant and salty, as well as very pure, thanks to the old vines and small but intensely flavored grapes. The finish is enormously long and reveals the great structure, intensity and aging potential of this stunning Goldtröpfchen.' Lees verder

  14. Ohligsberg Riesling Auslese ** I Julian Haart | Julian Haart

John Gilman: "The 2015 Ohligsberg Three Star Auslese also includes about twenty-five percent botrytis this year, but it shows more glazing in its aromatic and flavor personality. The bouquet is really quite lovely, wafting from the glass in a blend of white cherries, yellow plums, honeycomb, orange zest, violets and a touch of iris blossoms as well in the quite floral topnote. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and really a lovely example of botrytized Riesling, with a fine core, great acids and a very long, racy and complex finish. Lovely juice. 2021-2060+. 93."
