  1. Minervois "L'O de la Vie" I Anne Gros

The Wine Advocate: 'The 2015 Minervois l'O de la Vie is another pretty, elegant and lively effort and is made from 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache aged 80% in stainless steel and 20% in barrels. Notes of violets, plums, cassis and even a hint of mint all emerge from this medium-bodied, impeccably balanced beauty that’s perfect for drinking over the coming 4-5 years as well. 90 points" Lees verder

  2. Macon-Fuissé 'Les Taches' I Robert-Denogent

Burghound: 'A ripe, fresh and expressive nose combines notes of pear, apple and citrus peel with those of spice and acacia blossom. There is a bit more volume to the seductively textured and very rich middle weight flavors that are blessed with ample amounts of dry extract that impart a sappy quality to the solidly persistent finish. This isn't quite as tight as the Bertillon and should be approachable after only 2 to 3 years of bottle age. This too is excellent.' Lees verder

  3. Pouilly-Fuissé 'La Croix' I Robert-Denogent

Burghound: 'As good as the Les Pommards is this is clearly at another level altogether with its elegant nose of mineral reduction, pear, apple and lemon rind scents. The cool, pure and sleek middle weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the extract-rich medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate on the refined, focused, linear and impeccably well-balanced finale. This is terrific and I very much like the chiseled quality of the backend.' Lees verder

  4. Morey-Saint-Denis I Domaine Dujac

Burghound:'The cool, pure and citrus-inflected nose also reflects petrol and floral nuances. The round and seductively textured flavors possess reasonably good volume and intensity if only moderate depth and persistence. Note that this should drink well early if patience is not your strong suit.' Lees verder

  5. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Champs-Gains I Caroline Morey

Burghound: 'A fresh and relatively cool nose reflects notes of petrol, citrus and essence of pear. The delicious, round and very generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors possess slightly better complexity if not quite the same vibrancy on the lingering finish that also displays noticeable gas.' 6. Chambolle-Musigny I Domaine Dujac

Burghound: 'Here the nose is more elegant and more floral in character with plenty of spice to the mostly red berry fruit aromas. There is lovely delineation to the sleek and stony flavors where the tautly muscular finish is also relatively robust. Once again patience is suggested.' Lees verder

  7. Champagne Extra-Brut "Campania Remensis Rosé I Bérêche & Fils

Antonio Galloni: "Extremely pale pink. A fragrant, mineral-tinged bouquet evokes wild red berries, blood orange, jasmine and white pepper, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Dry, focused and light on its feet, offering tangy strawberry and citrus zest flavors that put on weight with air. Shows outstanding clarity and lift on a finish that leaves chalky mineral and floral notes in its wake. As graceful a pink Champagne as you're likely to find, but it doesn't lack at all for flavor depth or intensity." Lees verder

  8. Pouilly-Fuissé 'Les Reisses' I Robert-Denogent

Burghound: 'This is at once notably ripe but also exceptionally fresh with its airy array of liqueur-like apple and pear aromas that are liberally laced with various citrus elements including a subtle tangerine peel nuance. There is a bit more volume and richness to the admirably well-concentrated, caressing and sappy middle weight flavors that also brim with plenty of dry extract, all wrapped in a wonderfully sleek and saline finale that is, at present anyway, a bit less refined and complex.' 9. Champagne Premier Cru 'Les Monts Fournois' I Bérêche & Fils

Vinous:'An addition to the range, the 2012 Extra-Brut Les Monts Fournois is terrific. Rich, ample and nuanced in the glass, the 2012 has an element of weightlessness to it that simply adds to the wine's considerable finesse. Lemon confit, white flowers, chalk and mint all contribute to an impression of total finesse. Lifted, expressive aromatics return to frame the precise detailed finish. Even with its 13% of natural alcohol (high for Champagne) the 2012 offers exceptional balance and class. I loved it. Disgorged December 2015. Dosage is 3 grams per liter.' Lees verder

  10. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chaumées I Caroline Morey

Burghound: 'Moderate reduction renders the nose difficult to assess. Otherwise there is excellent intensity and even more volume to the solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the well-balanced finish that is both more complex and persistent. There is enough backend wood to warrant mentioning but I suspect that it will be rapidly absorbed.' Lees verder

  11. Pouilly-Fuissé 'Cuvée Claude Denogent' I Robert-Denogent

Burghound: 'This is the first wine to display much in the way of post-bottling reduction but in this case it's enough to warrant a thorough aeration if you're determined to try a bottle young. Otherwise there is superb richness, volume and mouth coating dry extract to support the medium weight flavors that are at once succulent but powerful while delivering excellent length on the driving finish. This isn't especially refined but it is certainly impressive and very clearly built-to-age.' Lees verder

  12. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets I Caroline Morey

Burghound: This too is moderately reduced and not readable today. On the plus side there is impressive richness and volume to the equally sappy middle weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the stylish, clean, dry and agreeably persistent finish.' Lees verder

  13. Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combottes I Domaine Dujac

Vinous: 'Bright, dark red. Sexy but reticent nose hints at black cherry, raspberry and leather. Then sweet, pliant and seriously concentrated on the palate, communicating sappy energy to the flavors of red and dark berries and spices. The dark-fruit finish features chewy tannins and excellent length.' Lees verder

  14. Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Cuvée Vieilles Vignes | Domaine Ponsot

Burghound: "This is so deeply colored that it's opaque. The expressive and strikingly complex nose features broad-ranging notes of cassis, plum, sandalwood, spice, earth of the sauvage. There is superb richness to the voluminous, powerful and punchy flavors that display plenty of muscle on the youthfully austere finish. This is a seriously impressive effort though note well that this is going to need at least 10 to 12 years of cellaring first." Lees verder
