  1. Régnié I Julien Sunier

William Kelley: "Matured in used barrels from Chambolle-Musigny's Domaine Roumier, this is the first bottling of Sunier's 2018 Régnié, amounting to some 7,000 bottles out of a total production closer to 20,000. Wafting from the glass with scents of wild berries, potpourri and dark chocolate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with powdery structuring tannins, good concentration and a sapid finish. Recently bottled, I suspect it will perform even better with a year in the cellar.' Vinous: "Vivid purple. Heady aromas of mineral-accented red/blue fruits, floral pastilles and incense take on a spicy nuance as the wine stretches out. Fleshy and seamless in the mouth, offering intense black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a hint of candied rose. Finishes seamless, sweet and very long, showing an echo of florality and supple, even tannins that add gentle grip." Lees verder

  2. Chiroubles 'Vieilles Vignes' I Damien Coquelet

Lees verder

  3. Morgon | Lapierre

Vinous: "Glistening ruby. Mineral-inflected red/blue fruits on the assertively perfumed nose, along with incense, exotic spices and fresh flowers. Alluringly sweet and penetrating, offering intense boysenberry and raspberry flavors braced by juicy acidity. Fine-grained tannins add spine to a wonderfully long, sappy finish that strongly repeats the floral and mineral notes." Lees verder

  4. Morgon I Julien Sunier

Vinous: "Deep, vivid ruby. A highly complex bouquet evokes fresh, mineral-tinged dark berries and cherry liqueur, along with suggestions of succulent flowers and baking spices. Silky and focused in the mouth, offering alluringly sweet black raspberry, cherry-cola, spicecake and rose pastille flavors that are underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. Gentle tannins sneak up slowly on the impressively long finish, which shows excellent clarity and leaves behind sappy blue fruit and spice notes." Lees verder

  5. Fleurie 'La Chapelle des Bois' | Domaine de la Grand'Cour

The Wine Advocate: "From a northeast-facing lieu-dit with deeper soils than Champagne and Grand'Coeur, Dutraive's 2018 Fleurie Chapelle de Bois offers up aromas of wild berries, cassis, cloves and rose hips. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent, with a delicate, open-knit profile and a light framing of powdery tannins. It's a delicious Fleurie that will drink well for a decade." Lees verder

  6. Brouilly 'Vieilles Vignes' | Domaine de la Grand'Cour

The Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Brouilly Cuvée Vieilles Vignes displays aromas of cherries, red berries, candied peel and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that leads with a satiny attack, quickly segueing into a firmer, more structured mid-palate and finish that's quite unlike Dutraive's wines from Fleurie, though it shares their charm and drinkability in its more burly, muscular register." 7. Fleurie Vieilles Vignes, Lieu-dit "Champagne" | Domaine de la Grand'Cour

The Wine Advocate: "This southeast-facing parcel, where the bedrock breaks through the soil in places, has delivered another terrific wine with the 2018 Fleurie Lieu-dit "Champagne" Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, a superb bottling that soars from the glass with aromas of rose petals, cinnamon, raspberries, Griotte cherries and blood orange. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with the most energy of any cuvée in the cellar this year, fine tannins and a long, penetrating finish. It's a worthy successor to the incredible, vintage-transcending 2017 rendition." Lees verder
