  1. Bourgogne Passetoutgrain | Emmanuel Rouget

Lees verder

  2. Bourgogne Pinot Noir I (Charles van Canneyt) Hudelot-Noëllat

Decanter: 'This is from declassified grapes from the Cotes de Nuits made by the winemaker at Hudelot-Noëllat. Charles van canneyt, but from his own micro-negociant business. This is a pretty Pinot Noir, exhibiting the classic Burgundian perfume of rasberry. Subtle, inviting and delivering plenty of fruit, this red Burgundy really punches above its weight. 93 points' Lees verder

Lees verder

  4. Bourgogne Rouge | Hudelot-Noëllat

Neal Martin: ‘Bottled just before the harvest, the 2015 Bourgogne Rouge, a blend of 18 parcels all in front of Chambolle-Musigny, actually represents one-third of the total production of the domaine. It has a lovely, quite sensual red cherry and bergamot-scented bouquet that is generous and pure. The palate is rounded on the entry with fine tannin, pretty and nimble with a crisp and precise finish. This is how to do a generic red Burgundy.’ Lees verder

  7. Bourgogne Passetoutgrains I Robert Groffier

Öhman: ‘The Bourgogne Passe-tout-grains is from the Morey side – the estate may be located in Morey, but only the lesser wines are produced close to home turf. The Passe-tout-grains is a lovely forward wine – 1/3 Gamay – a nice mix of red and dark fruits – juicy, pure and with a fine energy. Style wise a nice introduction to the Groffier range. A lovely glass!’ Vinous: ‘The estate's Passetoutgrains, which includes one-third Gamay, is also a winner in 2016, offering juicy, savory red fruit aromas and flavors and a firm finish.’ Lees verder

  8. Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge I Jean-Marc Bouley

Burghound: 'A ripe but strikingly fresh nose features notes of red raspberry, cherry and a touch of earth. There is fine richness, and particularly so for the appellation, to the velvet-textured flavors that possess an agreeable texture, all wrapped in a mouth coating and lingering finish. Fine quality here. Outstanding. Topvalue' Lees verder

Burghound over de 2015: 'A pretty and layered nose combines notes of earth and floral scents with those of red and dark cherry. There is fine energy and detail to the lightly stony flavors that conclude in a mildly rustic finale. This would make a fine choice for an upper level house red that could be enjoyed young but also aged for a few years too.' Lees verder

  10. Marsannay | Méo-Camuzet

John Gilman: ‘I always like what Jean-Nicolas Méo produces in the two villages of Marsannay and Fixin and I am glad that he pays such attention to these two communes. The 2014 Marsannay AC is quite red fruity in personality this year, offering up a bright bouquet of cherries, red berries, mustard seed, a lovely base of soil and a touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and quite tangy, with a good core of red fruit, nice soil inflection and just a bit of backend tannin adding grip on the pretty long finish. A very good example.’ Lees verder

  11. Côte de Nuits-Villages 'Vieilles Vignes' I Jean-Marc Millot

There is good energy but also good richness to the succulent, round and seductively textured flavors that are supported by slightly finer tannins on the clean and focused finish where a hint of bitter cherry arises.' 13. Côte de Nuits-Villages 'Faulques' I Jean-Marc Millot

Öhman: 'One of my favourites – the CdNV Aux Faulques from a terroir located in the center of Comblanchien. The 2016 vintage is showing a cooler and more vibrant side of this wine – more red and fresh fruit. Still a bit of malo to do here … with the nose being slightly reduced. On the palate finely balanced with plenty of fruit and a nice mineral note offering a nice complexity and detail. Really like this terroir … and the 2016 vintage is showing a beautiful expression of its mineral character.' Lees verder

  14. Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge I Charlopin-Tissier

Neal Martin: 'The 2014 Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétilles comes from a parcel vines next to the plot of Chardonnay, though of course it is not designated premier cru. The nose is a slightly diffuse bouquet of wild strawberry and red cherry scents, a touch of wet limestone underneath, though with aeration it begins to coalesce. The palate offers red cherry and strawberry fruit, grainy and textured, a little austere as the vintage's reds seem to be at this stage, although there is commendable weight towards the finish. Give this 18 to 24 months to coalesce.' Lees verder

Burghound: 'An exuberantly fresh and expressive nose offers up notes of both red and black cherry that are liberally sprinkled with earth and soft wood nuances. There is excellent punch to the attractively textured middle weight flavors that are shaped by remarkably fine tannins given the regional appellation, all wrapped in a solidly complex and persistent finish. This is phenomenally good for its level and highly recommended - plus it will reward aging. Outstanding. Top Value' Lees verder

  17. Marsannay | Meo-Camuzet

Bourghound: 'Mild reduction presently overshadows the fruit. Like the Bourgogne the middle weight flavors are cool, pure and vibrant and they also possess a relatively refined mouth feel, all wrapped in a clean, dry and focused finale. This would also make a good choice for an upper level house red.' Lees verder

  21. Bourgogne Pinot Noir I Robert Groffier

Öhman: ‘The Bourgogne Rouge is a step up in refinement – 2/3 from the vineyards below Clos de Vougeot. It’s forward and pure offering a finely detailed bouquet – pretty and enjoyable. On the palate fine length and weight for this level – fruit is energetic offering a good depth. A very enjoyable wine ..’ Vinous: ‘Good medium red. Spicy red fruits complicated by soil nuances on the nose. Showed a captivating red cherry perfume with air, along with harmonious acidity and considerable finesse. Finishes juicy and firmly tannic, with noteworthy floral persistence for its appellation. Groffier told me he did no extraction at all for half of this cuvée. As in many past vintages, this should make a serious Bourgogne and yet it also conveys a relaxed quality.’ Lees verder

The palate is fleshy on the entry with sappy black fruit, supple in the mouth with a tang of salinity towards the flattering finish. This is a very well crafted Côte de Nuits.' Lees verder
