  1. Bourgogne Passetoutgrain | Emmanuel Rouget

Lees verder

  3. Bourgogne Rouge | Hudelot-Noëllat

Neal Martin: ‘Bottled just before the harvest, the 2015 Bourgogne Rouge, a blend of 18 parcels all in front of Chambolle-Musigny, actually represents one-third of the total production of the domaine. It has a lovely, quite sensual red cherry and bergamot-scented bouquet that is generous and pure. The palate is rounded on the entry with fine tannin, pretty and nimble with a crisp and precise finish. This is how to do a generic red Burgundy.’ Lees verder

  4. Bourgogne Rouge | Meo-Camuzet

Claude Kolm: ‘The red Bourgogne has dark cherry aromas and flavors. The mouth is medium-full and intense with depth and good structure. It is a fine example of the quality Bourgogne rouge one can find in the vintage. The wine comes from vineyards that Méo-Camuzet has in Pommard, Vougeot, and Vosne near Nuits, as well as about 30% purchased wine.’ Lees verder

  7. Marsannay | Méo-Camuzet

John Gilman: ‘I always like what Jean-Nicolas Méo produces in the two villages of Marsannay and Fixin and I am glad that he pays such attention to these two communes. The 2014 Marsannay AC is quite red fruity in personality this year, offering up a bright bouquet of cherries, red berries, mustard seed, a lovely base of soil and a touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and quite tangy, with a good core of red fruit, nice soil inflection and just a bit of backend tannin adding grip on the pretty long finish. A very good example.’ Lees verder

  8. Bourgogne Rouge | Denis Bachelet

Burghound: 'An exuberantly fresh and expressive nose offers up notes of both red and black cherry that are liberally sprinkled with earth and soft wood nuances. There is excellent punch to the attractively textured middle weight flavors that are shaped by remarkably fine tannins given the regional appellation, all wrapped in a solidly complex and persistent finish. This is phenomenally good for its level and highly recommended - plus it will reward aging. Outstanding. Top Value' Lees verder

  9. Pernand-Vergelesses 'Sous Frétilles' I Charlopin-Tissier

Neal Martin: 'The 2014 Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétilles comes from a parcel vines next to the plot of Chardonnay, though of course it is not designated premier cru. The nose is a slightly diffuse bouquet of wild strawberry and red cherry scents, a touch of wet limestone underneath, though with aeration it begins to coalesce. The palate offers red cherry and strawberry fruit, grainy and textured, a little austere as the vintage's reds seem to be at this stage, although there is commendable weight towards the finish. Give this 18 to 24 months to coalesce.' Lees verder

  10. Marsannay | Meo-Camuzet

Bourghound: 'Mild reduction presently overshadows the fruit. Like the Bourgogne the middle weight flavors are cool, pure and vibrant and they also possess a relatively refined mouth feel, all wrapped in a clean, dry and focused finale. This would also make a good choice for an upper level house red.' Lees verder

  11. Givry 1er Cru Clos de la Servoisine | Joblot

Burghound: "A cool, pure and highly perfumed nose speaks of spicy red pinot fruit, earth and soft nuances of wet stone. There is a wonderfully refined mouth feel to the beautifully intense middle weight flavors that are supported by phenolically ripe tannins that are firm but well-integrated, all wrapped in a lightly mineral-infused and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is first rate." Lees verder

  12. Gevrey-Chambertin I Duroché

Neal Martin: ‘The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Village has a more controlled, less feisty and better behaved bouquet than the Bourgogne Rouge. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity that cuts through the dark cherry and cassis fruit. There is plenty of sucrosity here, but that does not seem to take the edge of the finish that demonstrates good persistence. Even though this is just a village cru I recommend giving this 2-3 years in bottle.’ Lees verder

  14. Bourgogne Rouge | Claude Dugat

Burghound: 'Mild reduction is sufficient to mask the underlying fruit but not the earth character. There is by contrast good freshness and verve to the nicely detailed flavors that possess reasonably good depth on the refreshing and inviting finale. I like the balance and this should drink well early on.' Lees verder

  15. Gevrey-Chambertin "Champ" I Duroché

Neal Martin: ‘The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin En Champ has a fresh blackberry and raspberry leaf-scented bouquet with far greater clarity and mineralité than the Gevrey villages. This is very perfumed, almost sensual. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity and fine grain tannins. What I appreciate is the sense of energy in situ and it is almost sorbet-like towards the finish, a hint of licorice poking through on the aftertaste. This should be utterly delicious from the word go.’ Lees verder

  16. Côte de Nuits-Villages | Denis Bachelet

Neal Martin: 'The 2014 Côtes de Nuits Villages has a controlled blackberry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet, a little tighter than the Bourgogne Rouge at the moment with just a faint hint of blueberry developing with time. The palate is fleshy on the entry with sappy black fruit, supple in the mouth with a tang of salinity towards the flattering finish. This is a very well crafted Côte de Nuits.' Lees verder

  17. Fixin | Meo-Camuzet

There is more volume and a bit more richness as well to the velvety but detailed medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the lingering finish that displays only a trace of rusticity. This is quite good and worth a look.' Lees verder

  19. Gevrey-Chambertin "Clos" I Duroché

Neal Martin: ‘The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Le Clos, which comes from vines located near the church inside the village, veers more towards red fruit on the nose: strawberry pastilles and redcurrant, a touch of orange sorbet. The palate is clean and fresh, adorned with more mineralité and tension than the Champ, and it neatly dovetails into a precise, linear but quite delicious finish. This is excellent and well worth hunting down—a village cru punching at the weight of a premier cru.’ Lees verder

  21. Morey-Saint-Denis I Charlopin-Tissier

Neal Martin: "The 2014 Morey-Saint-Denis Village comes from five rows of vine planted in 1945. It has slightly darker fruit than Yann Charlopin's other 2014s, hints of bergamot and cold steel infusing the red berry fruit, quite detailed with impressive focus. The palate is medium-bodied with fine supple tannin, earthy red berries and nicely judged acidity; it is structured towards the slightly aloof finish, a dash of pepper on the aftertaste. There is something very "correct" about this Morey-Saint-Denis. Enjoy this over the next 5-7 years." Lees verder

  23. Nuits-Saint-Georges | Georges Noëllat

Stephan Tamzer: ‘(aged in 25% new oak; from a single 60-year-old parcel in Bas de Combes; in cuve): Good dark red. Smoky red fruits on the nose. Plush, silky and seamless in the mouth, showing a touch of reduction to the flavors of raspberry, cherry and smoke. Offers good volume and fat in the middle palate but finishes with a firm edge and good digestibility. Has just enough energy to counter its sweetness of fruit.’ Lees verder

  24. Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Jeunes Rois" I Duroché

Neal Martin: ‘The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois has an earthier, more introverted bouquet compared to the Le Clos and it feels almost Morey-Saint-Denis in style—a bit linear and correct. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with vivid raspberry and red plum fruit that becomes darker towards the structured and foursquare finish. There is superb concentration here, which Pierre Duroché explained was due to millerandage. This is what you might call "proper" Gevrey-Chambertin and it will give pleasure over the next 10-12 years.’ Lees verder

Neal Martin: 'The 2014 Aloxe-Corton Village, which comes from the lieu-dit of Les Petit Vercots and underwent a little more pigeage than Yann's other crus, has a detailed, stony bouquet that gradually reveals attractive cranberry and briary aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry, tertiary red berry fruit, nice 'n saline in the mouth with a brisk, slightly chalky finish that lingers temptingly. An elegant wine from Yann Charlopin in 2014.' Lees verder

The palate is crisp on the entry with grainy tannin, beautifully balanced with a poised, winsome finish and a saline aftertaste. It eschews the usual heaviness that can pervade Chambolle premier crus this vintage with a sense of precision. This comes recommended.’ Lees verder

Steen Öhman: 'The Vosne-Romanee village 2014 from George Noellat is a hedonistic treasure. 40% new oak is used on this wine. In the nose bright and red fruit – raspberries, variation of cherries – brought forward by a fine spicy Vosne minerality – quite floral. On the palate fine and delicate fruit – with a very lovely cool fruit on the midpalate – love the inner tension and energy – it’s quite velvet and long with a fine balance and tension for this level. Best village effort so far from Maxime – in my view.' Lees verder
