  1. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Clos du Cailleret' Rouge I Jean Chartron

Öhman: “Last but not least of the regular cuvées the Puligny Clos du Caillerets Rouge 2017 the only red 1er cru in Puligny-Montrachet these days. Caillerets actually used to be planted with mainly pinot noir, but today only Chartron have maintained this fine tradition. This is a special wine – with a classic “white” Puligny minerality – citrus and mineral driven – creating a lightfooted and vivid red Puligny. A rare treat .. lovely to taste a red 1er cru from this appellation.” Lees verder

  2. Bourgogne "Pinot Noir" I Duroché

Vinous: "The 2018 Bourgogne Rouge has a lovely strawberry shortcake bouquet of fine definition; simple but charming. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, a fine bead of acidity and a pretty, lightly spiced finish. This will serve as a perfect introduction to Duroché. It was due for bottling in December 2019." Lees verder

  5. Bourgogne Passetoutgrains I Robert Groffier

Neal Martin: "The 2017 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain is a blend of 25% Gamay and 75% Pinot Noir. It has a fine, exuberant bouquet with veins of blue fruit and hints of pressed flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with a citrus-fresh opening and a sharp line of acidity that lends this Passetoutgrain good vigor, even if it cuts away a little swiftly on the finish. Fine." Öhman: "The Bourgogne Passe-tout-grains is from the Morey side – the estate may be located in Morey, but only the lesser wines are produced close to home turf. The Passe-tout-grains is a forward wine – 1/4 Gamay – a nice mix of red and dark fruits – juicy, vivid and with a lovely drinkability. Drinking very well – even short term." Lees verder

  6. Côteaux Bourguignons 'Mes Gamay' I Nicolas Faure

Steen Öhman: “As with the 2016s I have chosen to publish a note on the Gamay .. just to show that an old and grumpy journalists can still change perception and focus. The Coteaux Bourguignons Mes Gamay 2017 is slightly solaire, forward and floral, It’s offering a lovely juicy fruit – lovely freshness and energy … with the natural charm of the vintage. Not hugely complex – but more than enough to make it interesting for a Burgundy snob like me. Bottom line – lovely energy with a vivid fruit – will offer tremendous drinking.” Lees verder

  8. Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge I Jean-Marc Bouley

Burghound: 'A ripe but strikingly fresh nose features notes of red raspberry, cherry and a touch of earth. There is fine richness, and particularly so for the appellation, to the velvet-textured flavors that possess an agreeable texture, all wrapped in a mouth coating and lingering finish. Fine quality here. Outstanding. Topvalue' Lees verder

  9. Bourgogne Rouge | Meo-Camuzet

Gilman: “The 2016 Méo Bourgogne rouge had been racked already and was really showing well at the time of my visit. The bouquet offers up a fine blend of red and black cherries, a touch of chocolate, a good base of soil and a whisper of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is medium-full, pure and nicely plump in the mid-palate, with ephemeral tannins and lovely focus and grip on the wide open and stylish finish. Good juice. 2018-2023” Lees verder

  10. Côte de Nuits-Villages I Gerard Julien & Fils

Öhman; "Côte de Nuits villages – made from plots located in the Comblanchien appellation. This is – like the rest of the 2016s biased towards red fruits – compared to the more weighty 2015s. This is also in the 2016 edition a very juicy and attractive wine with a lively and pure fruit. The nose is currently slightly reductive – but offering a selection of red and darker fruits – supported by a fine lime-stony minerality. On the palate delightfully juicy – energetic with good weight and concentration. I do like the wines from the Comblanchien area – often offering very good value. To be honest different but quite evenly matched by the 2015. Good++" Lees verder

  12. Marsannay | Méo-Camuzet

John Gilman: ‘I always like what Jean-Nicolas Méo produces in the two villages of Marsannay and Fixin and I am glad that he pays such attention to these two communes. The 2014 Marsannay AC is quite red fruity in personality this year, offering up a bright bouquet of cherries, red berries, mustard seed, a lovely base of soil and a touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and quite tangy, with a good core of red fruit, nice soil inflection and just a bit of backend tannin adding grip on the pretty long finish. A very good example.’ Lees verder

  16. Bourgogne Pinot Fin I Arnoux-Lachaux

Neal Martin: "The 2017 Bourgogne Pinot Fin is a blend of several vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny and others located between Vosne-Romanée and Nuits Saint Georges. It includes 70% whole bunches. The very fine bouquet features quite intense red cherries and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet tannin, a core of fleshy sorbet-fresh red fruit and a touch of spice on the finish. It just misses a little length, but otherwise, it’s impressive." Lees verder

  18. Fixin 'Les Crais' I Berthaut-Gerbet

Neil Martin: “The 2017 Fixin Les Crais comes from vines on ancient alluvial soils, in a single parcel of 1.30 hectares with vines aged between 10 and 80 years. Aged in 20% new oak, it has a very pure bouquet with small dark cherries, hints of boysenberry and black olive compote. The palate is medium-bodied with orange-zest-infused red fruit on the entry. Very finely structured, with crisp tannin and a saline note toward the poised, quite persistent finish. A Fixin that does this appellation proud.” Lees verder

  20. Bourgogne Rouge | Denis Bachelet

Burghound: 'An exuberantly fresh and expressive nose offers up notes of both red and black cherry that are liberally sprinkled with earth and soft wood nuances. There is excellent punch to the attractively textured middle weight flavors that are shaped by remarkably fine tannins given the regional appellation, all wrapped in a solidly complex and persistent finish. This is phenomenally good for its level and highly recommended - plus it will reward aging. Outstanding. Top Value' Lees verder

  22. Bourgogne "Pinot Noir" I Robert Groffier

Neal Martin: "The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge, matured in one-year-old barrels, offers attractive crushed strawberry and raspberry preserve on the nose, displaying fine presence for a regional rouge. The palate is well balanced with fine-grained tannin, the fruit perhaps a little darker than some of its peers, and there is a light marine influence toward the finish. Enjoy over the next three or four years." Öhman: "The Bourgogne Rouge is a step up in refinement – 2/3 from the vineyards below Clos de Vougeot. It’s vibrant and pure offering a detailed and fruity bouquet – pretty and enjoyable. On the palate good length – fruit is energetic offering a good drikability . A very enjoyable wine .." Lees verder

It has a very pleasant bouquet, very well defined with vivid morello cherry and kirsch aromas that blossom with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red cherry and strawberry fruit. It has quite an earthy, sous-boistinged bouquet that is very well defined, the 60% whole bunches nicely integrated. The bouquet is very intense, featuring dark cherry, cassis and subtle iodine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, fine grip, good volume for a Village Cru and a grippy, quite dense finish. This will probably peak after most of the bottles have been drunk."
